Take Heart

Skydiving

You know those days when you really, really need encouragement? You need a person to simply say hang in there. You want to hear that there is really a light at the end of the tunnel. And you want a person who can say these words with affirmation and confidence, because somehow you may start to believe that maybe you still have some strength left to keep doing what you are called to do.

In those times you don’t want a person to preach to you or to comfort you. You don’t need any of that. Perhaps in these moments you just need a friend to sit besides you and simply whisper “You really gonna be OKAY”. Whatever you are feeling, whatever you are going through it is going to get better. I love the quote that says “Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever”. Yes, know this, it can’t rain forever. And the most awesome part about rainy times? After the rain comes the rainbow, which in turn teaches us to appreciate things more when they are going right. And the good news for us- those who believe and put our hope in Christ is this: whatever you are going through, you are going to come out wiser and better!

1 Peter 1:6-7 “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

Just to encourage you, I wanted to share three links that have been speaking truth into my heart. Words that keep resounding in my heart “Keep pushing, it will get better.”

First, here is a song that’s been on replay these past days. Simple words that speak volume.

It goes like this:

“Whatever you do, just don’t look back.
Oh somebody needs the light you have.
Whatever you do, just don’t lose heart.
Keep on pushing back the dark…”

I don’t want to spoil the fun, so listen for yourself and be uplifted.

There are times when you really feel like a failure and that nothing is going right and you wonder where God  is in all that’s going on around you. Let your heart be encouraged, yet again?

God will bring you through

Lastly, this last link is my absolute always go to article in the morning when I feel fragile for reasons that I don’t understand. I was so thankful to learn that I am not the only person who feels like that.

What to do if you wake up fragile

Here is one thing I want you to know, whatever you are going through, you are not alone. You may “feel” alone but you are never, ever alone. The devil always wants you to believe that you are the only one who feels the things you feel, or that the circumstances you are going through are unique; hear this, there are not unique. I dare you to talk about things that hurt you and you will find that we are all in this together.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

I pray that we see that God is always our light during dark times. Thank You Father for this life. Thank You for giving us more than we could ever deserve, in the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen!
